Malta is set to host the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2025, one of the world’s premier offshore yacht races, attracting over 120 yachts from across the globe. The fleet will depart from the Grand Harbour and navigate an anticlockwise route around Sicily.

The race start, between Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta and Fort St Angelo in Birgu, is accompanied by cannon fire from the Saluting Battery, with seven yacht classes launching at 10-minute intervals. It is considered one of the most photogenic race starts worldwide.
