According to data published by the National Statistics Office, Malta’s cruise sector recorded moderate growth during 2025, supported by an increase in cruise liner calls and stable passenger volumes across key source markets NR-011-2026-YKFPGD.
A total of 387 cruise liner calls were registered during the year, up from 363 in 2024. This translated into an average of 2,250 passengers per vessel, broadly in line with historical trends.
Passengers from EU Member States accounted for 45.9 per cent of total cruise traffic, while non-EU markets continued to represent a significant share, led primarily by the United States and the United Kingdom.
Demographically, women made up just over half of total cruise passengers, while the largest cohort fell within the 60–79 age bracket, followed by those aged between 40 and 59.
The figures point to steady growth in cruise activity.
