BVNK has been granted a Crypto-Asset Services Provider (CASP) licence by the Malta Financial Services Authority, enabling the firm to provide regulated digital-asset services from Malta under the EU’s new MiCA framework.
The approval means the company can passport its services across European Economic Area (EEA) member states in line with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), the EU’s harmonised rulebook for crypto-assets and related services.
With the CASP licence in place, BVNK is now able to operate a three-pronged European structure from Malta. In addition to its newly authorised MiCA-regulated digital-asset services, the company also holds an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence, allowing it to facilitate euro-denominated payments. Furthermore, it has direct access to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) scheme via the Bank of Lithuania’s CENTROlink system.
This combination enables clients to move between traditional euro payments and stablecoin transactions within a regulated environment, offering operational continuity and regulatory clarity for cross-border activity within the EU.
