KM Malta Airlines, Malta’s national airline, will start flying to Tel Aviv, Israel this summer.
Flights will commence on 27th May and will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.
A spokesperson for KM Malta Airlines told MaltaInvest.mt that Tel Aviv was chosen as a new route because it is a market which is currently not served by any airline in providing air links with Malta.
“Historically this route has delivered a strong performance and its re-introduction with more convenient flight times provides an additional destination to and from Malta for both passengers and cargo,” they said.
KM Malta’s predecessor Air Malta, as well as Ryanair, used to operate flights between Malta and Tel Aviv in the past.
Alex Rayner, an executive board member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), recently revealed that Tel Aviv was one of the non-European cities whose residents were most likely to search for flights to Malta last year, just behind New York, São Paulo and Istanbul.
