Malta continues to strengthen its reputation as a vibrant hub for digital innovation and gaming, with the Brazilian esports leader Imperial announcing the opening of its main European office on the island this December. This milestone underscores Malta’s appeal as a strategic gateway for international companies looking to expand their European footprint.
The announcement was made by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, at an event hosted at Trident Park where senior executives from global firms gathered to unveil new and expanding investments in Malta.
These initiatives, both new and ongoing, are projected to generate €60 million in investment and create 1,300 high-quality jobs by the end of next year, highlighting Malta’s dynamic business environment and skilled talent pool.
Several other prominent companies have also committed to Malta, signalling confidence in the island’s growing digital, gaming, and marketing sectors:
The thriving iGaming sector remains a cornerstone of Malta’s economy, with significant investments fostering growth and local talent development:
GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti commented on these developments, stating:
“The iGaming Council provides a vital forum for key operators within the industry to openly explore and discuss jurisdictional opportunities and ecosystem initiatives. Today’s Council witnessed the unveiling of major investments – from new esports organisations and office expansions to enhanced operations and talent development initiatives.”
“Together, these milestones signify a strong and forward-looking ecosystem, fully aligned with the Malta Vision 2050,” he concluded.
Malta’s strategic location, business-friendly regulatory framework, and growing pool of skilled professionals make it an unmatched destination for companies seeking growth in Europe’s digital economy. With ongoing investments and global confidence, Malta is well positioned to maintain its leadership in iGaming, esports, and digital innovation for years to come.
