Italian sandwich brand All’Antico Vinaio is set to open its first Maltese location on Republic Street in Valletta, marking its 56th outlet worldwide.
Founded in Florence, the brand is known for its Tuscan schiacciata sandwiches and has built an international presence across cities including Milan, Rome, New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris. Its arrival in Malta adds Valletta to its expanding global footprint.
The opening reflects a broader trend of international food and beverage brands establishing a presence in Malta in recent years. These include PAUL, Ladurée, and Antica Pizzeria da Michele, pointing to continued interest from global operators in the local market and its tourism-driven demand.
The new outlet will be operated locally by Greatt Food Limited and is expected to target both residents and tourists in one of the capital’s busiest streets.
Founder and CEO Tommaso Mazzanti described the move as part of the brand’s ongoing international expansion, while franchisee representative Victor Borg said Republic Street offers a strong location due to its footfall and setting.
The Malta outlet will follow the brand’s established model, offering freshly prepared schiacciata bread and ingredients sourced from Italy, alongside Malta-specific menu items.
The opening is scheduled for 25th April at 12:00, with regular opening hours set from 10:00 to 22:00 daily from 26 April.
