Malta is being recognised as a “regional maritime hub of excellence,” offering a range of complementary services, including ship registration, according to Malta Maritime Forum (MMF) Chairman Godwin Xerri.
The forum marked its 10th anniversary at Magazino Hall, Valletta Cruise Port, reflecting a decade of progress in shaping Malta’s maritime sector.
Speaking at the event, Mr Xerri paid tribute to the Forum’s founders and past leaders, including Ann Fenech, Joseph Bugeja, Joe Borg, and Joseph Zammit McKeon, noting its role as a trusted advisory body for Malta’s maritime authorities.
“The forum’s work has helped safeguard Malta’s attractiveness,” he said.
Mr Xerri also highlighted the forthcoming National Maritime Transport Strategy, which the forum has helped develop. The strategy aims to provide a clear roadmap for the sector, outlining goals, resources, and key milestones for the industry’s future growth, providing stability and clarity for businesses and investors alike.
Reaffirming its commitment to the industry, the forum continues to strengthen Malta’s position as a leading Mediterranean maritime centre, making it an attractive destination for investment and business expansion.
