KM Malta Airlines has announced a new direct route between Malta and Málaga as part of its Summer 2026 schedule, strengthening air links between Malta and another major Mediterranean destination.
The service will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, between Malta International Airport and Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, starting on 27th May 2026.
Under the published schedule, Wednesday flight KM596 will depart Malta at 14:10 and arrive in Málaga at 17:10, while return flight KM597 will leave Málaga at 18:00 and arrive in Malta at 20:55. On Sundays, KM596 will depart Malta at 08:05 and arrive in Málaga at 11:05, while KM597 will depart Málaga at 11:55 and arrive in Malta at 14:50. All times are local.
The airline said the Málaga service forms part of a broader expansion of routes and frequencies across key European and Mediterranean destinations in Summer 2026.
The addition of the Spanish route is expected to support both outbound leisure demand and inbound tourism to Malta, while improving direct connectivity with the Costa del Sol and nearby destinations such as Marbella, Nerja and Ronda. Málaga also offers access to inland Andalusia, broadening the route’s appeal for both travellers and tourism operators.
Flights are available for booking through KM Malta Airlines’ website and app, travel agents, and other authorised sales channels.
