Thomas Ohr, Founder and CEO of EU-Startups – Europe’s main startup focused media company – is bullish about Malta’s maturing ecosystem.
“For founders, investors and startup teams ready to scale internationally, Malta is exactly where you need to be – now, in May, and in the future.”

7th and 8th May is when the next edition of EU-Startups Summit is set to take place, at Valletta’s Mediterranean Conference Centre.
The 2026 edition will be the third to be hosted in Malta.
The event attracts over 2,000 founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, VCs, and media representatives from across Europe. It aims to be a key meeting point for aspiring entrepreneurs and investors looking to establish international tech companies.
Hosting the EU-Startups Summit is part of a wider strategy adopted by Malta as it seeks to establish itself as a European hub for innovative enterprise.
Other initiatives include the launch of a dedicated residency programme for startup founders and key employees, an industrial space offering, incubator like SuperCharger Ventures, and considerable financial support.
The efforts are bearing fruit, with several Malta-based startups achieving success both locally and abroad.
