Malta will present its iGaming sector as a broader investment and business-growth opportunity at SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon, where GamingMalta will lead the country’s first dedicated national booth.
The initiative brings together GamingMalta, the Malta Gaming Authority, Malta Enterprise, Bank of Valletta and Identità under the Make It In Malta campaign, presenting a joined-up offer for international companies considering Malta as a base.
Rather than focusing only on licensing, the delegation will highlight Malta’s wider investment proposition, including access to regulatory expertise, financing, relocation support, talent, professional services and a well-established digital economy.
GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti said Malta’s competitive advantage lies in the way its gaming industry connects with technology, infrastructure, banking, investment support and specialist business services.
The latest figures from the Malta Gaming Authority point to a sector that remains economically significant. In 2025, Malta’s gaming industry supported around 19,150 direct and indirect jobs, while employment among MGA-licensed companies increased by 4.8 per cent to 15,039 positions.
The B2B segment has also continued to grow, with licences rising from 68 in 2018 to 171 in 2025. New licence applications increased by around 36 per cent between 2024 and 2025, while the sector generated more than €1.42 billion in Gross Value Added.
For investors and operators, the figures underline Malta’s continued role as a specialised jurisdiction combining sector knowledge, regulatory experience and an ecosystem designed to help companies scale internationally.
SBC Summit has become one of the gaming industry’s largest international gatherings since moving to Lisbon. The 2025 edition attracted more than 30,000 delegates from 150 countries, alongside more than 700 exhibitors and sponsors, with organisers and industry reports pointing to continued growth for the 2026 event.
Against that backdrop, the Maltese delegation will be present at Hall 2, Booth 251 at the FIL in Lisbon from 29th September to 1st October, using the event’s international reach to position Malta as a destination for companies seeking long-term growth in regulated digital industries.
“Our objective is not simply to attract companies to Malta, but to create an environment where businesses, talent and innovation can grow together for the long term,” Mr Filletti said.
