With Enola Holmes 3 now streaming on Netflix, the cast and crew behind the hit detective franchise have opened up about their experience filming in Malta.
In a feature shared by the Malta Film Commission, actress Millie Bobby Brown said that she is excited to show global audiences what Malta is made of.
“It’s a very small island, but it’s very vibrant and full of people, passion and talent.
Director Philip Barantini said the crew was “spoiled for choice” in terms of finding the right filming locations in Malta while Director of Photography Matthew Lewis said that Malta offers great cinematic potential.
“You turn the camera, and you look somewhere and it looks gorgeous,” he said.
Producer Ali Mendes praised the Maltese crew and actors who were involved in Enola, stating that working with them has been “the experience of a lifetime”.
Meanwhile, Production Designer Gary Williamson noted that while many productions filmed in Malta often use the island to double as another country, Enola Holmes 3 is actually set in Malta itself.
“This is another moment to celebrate our island’s character, our crews, and the Malta Film Commission’s work in shaping Malta's world-class film industry,” said Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech.
“So proud of our achievements. The work goes on… to achieve more.”
